On this link I want to propose to you a closer look to ants. A window that will allow us to observe the emergent systems. Emergence is what happens when a system of relatively simple-minded elements organises itself spontaneously and without explicit laws, generating and intelligent behaviour. Out of small rules and simple laws, when all the agents work simultaneously a higher level behaviour emerges, that none of the individuals involved controls or directs. It’s a modality of system functioning in which there is no leader or consciousness articulating the functioning of the system.
